About Placement of Skylight blinds:

Skylight blinds need to be mounted inside the window frame. Always measure the opening at the place which you plan to mount the shade.  The greatest energy efficiency is obtained when the shade is one to four inches from the window. Make sure to leave room for protruding cranks. You may also ordering a T-handle if your crank is in the way.
